About The Author

K.C. Fifer is an author from the Upper Midwest who spent decades believing his writing days were a thing of the past. Although school years were filled with a passion for writing short stories and poems, the “real world” eventually took over. Between home life, friends, road trips, music, and a long career, the thought of picking up a pen hadn’t crossed his mind in years.
That changed when his wife of over 20 years decided it was time for him to stop wondering. “Write a book,” she told him. Her encouragement struck the match that reignited his fire, pushing him to finally get those stories out of his head and onto the page. Without her belief in him, the books he is writing today—including his debut YA supernatural series, Hound of God—would not exist.
His writing is rooted in places he knows best. Growing up near Elkhorn, Wisconsin, K.C. and his friends spent part of their curious youth watching the treelines for the legendary Beast of Bray Road. That childhood thrill of chasing things that aren’t supposed to exist fuels his writing. Influenced by his Norwegian ancestry, K.C. also honors that heritage by including subtle family history as a quiet tribute to those who shaped his life and are no longer here.
Today, K.C. balances his day job while building a “bank” of stories for his first series. When not at his desk, he’s likely with his wife exploring small northern towns or walking state park trails, keeping an eye on that treeline for something that may be staring back. K.C. is proof that it’s never too late to find your way back to your passions, and he invites you to join him and get lost in a world that he himself found at the crossroads of memory and imagination.
